As you go, you’ll make increased profits with which you can bid on new land to prospect. At this point, all you can really do is get to work, so with each of you being given a pre-selected piece of land, you head out into the wild to strike oil. Then you’ll start in an yet-to-be-built town, as you and three AI competitors get ready to begin adventures of prospecting with a starting budget of $2,000 each. You’ll start by selecting your character out of a set few personalities, each with their own style, avatar, and slogan. The main gameplay revolves around locating hidden oil pockets underground, drilling to the pockets, and transporting the oil to a company to sell it. It introduces all the tools you need to drill oil and make a profit. Turmoil begins with a tutorial that covers the basics on how to play in a very concise manner. The town is brought in on a train and not built up and the player is able to purchase all upgrades from the base game from the very start, rather than having to unlock them as time goes on. The DLC ‘The Heat Is On’ is the same except there are different characters. Expert Mode is the same as the base game, except it is harder. The player goes up against three rival AIs in each level. Campaign mode allows the player to buy land at an auction, and dig for oil using dowsers, moles, or scanners, earning as much as they can in one year. As the player make money digging up and selling oil, the town will grow along with them, allowing the player to buy upgrades, such as more horses or bigger pipes. The player has to earn their way to become a successful oil entrepreneur. Turmoil is inspired by the 19th century oil rush in North America. The game centers upon four individuals who race to become the next Mayor of a western town by accumulating money over the course of one year by drilling oil. mastered the concept of oil but rocks are a completely different story in Turmoil! All the other players in Turmoil think they’re smart, but Jack’s smarter!!! THE HEAT IS ON! is the first and only episode of the game Turmoil’s DLC played by Jacksepticeye.
